Enable and configure multiple currencies

With Orbitera, you can sell your products in multiple currencies.

If you enable multiple currencies for your product, you must update the pricing of each plan and plan phase for all currencies to make them available. Pricing plans and the phases are configured in the SKUs and Add-ons sections.

Your plans that charge a setup fee must have the setup fee specified for all currencies. The setup fee in the original currency is not automatically converted to the others.

For more information about updating pricing, see add pricing plans.

If you sell more than one product in your catalog and have configured multiple currencies for your products, customers viewing the catalog can filter the products by currency using the Filter By drop-down list. Selecting a currency filters the list of products to only those available in that currency. If a product is not available in that currency, it is not available for purchase in your catalog when filtering by that currency.

New customers can select any currency and see the products that are available in that currency.

After a customer buys a product in a currency, that currency becomes the customer's default currency for all future transactions. Customers cannot purchase products in different currencies.

Enabling multiple currencies

To enable more than one currency for your products, proceed with the following.

Go to Products

View the product information.

  • If you've created a new product, the product information is displayed after you click Create.
  • If you're editing an existing product, select that product from the list and then click Edit to view the product information.

In Product pricing > Supported currencies, select the down arrow to display the list of available currencies. Click the box next to each currency to be enabled.

To sell your products using the enabled currencies, you must configure the currencies for all associated SKUs and add-ons. This is done in the pricing plan and plan phases for each SKU and add-on.

When you're done, click Save. Click Preview to see how the product appears in your marketplace without publishing.
