Create a new account

  1. Open the catalog.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click Sign Up.
  3. Enter your contact information.
  4. Enter a password.
  5. Click Signup.

Sign in to the customer portal

  1. Open the catalog.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click Sign In.
  3. Enter your Email address and password.
  4. Click Login.

Configure the dashboard

The dashboard provides you with a view of spending for consumption and subscription products. This dashboard shows key performance indicators (KPIs), which are quantifiable measures for evaluating the success of a catalog so that you can make sure your catalog is meeting your performance objectives.

Change the date range

By default, the dashboard shows the current month's data up to today. You can configure the dashboard view to display a different date range.

  1. From the navigation bar, click Dashboard.
  2. From the Date Range dropdown, select a date range:

    • Month to date (default)
    • Year to date
    • Last month
    • Last quarter
    • Last year
    • Custom (enter start and end dates)

    The dashboard repopulates with the new date range.

  3. To save the view as the new default, click Save Dashboard in the upper-right.

Change the currency

You can convert the dashboard to another currency.

  1. From the navigation bar, click Dashboard.
  2. From the Currency dropdown, select a currency.

    The dashboard repopulates with the same data, converted to the selected currency.

  3. To save this currency as the new default, click Save Dashboard in the upper-right.

Add key performance indicators

With the dashboard, you can track key business metrics.

  1. From the navigation bar, click Add KPI Card.
  2. From the dropdown, select a KPI:

    • Actuals
    • Daily spend
    • Top 5 spend by product
    • Top 5 spend by cloud
    • Top 5 spend by account number
  3. To save your changes, click Save Dashboard in the upper-right.

Customize a KPI card

You can change the title and data format of each KPI card. You can also add multiple versions of the same KPI card by re-selecting the same one from the dropdown. Then you can customize each one to show a different view of the same data.

The KPIs are trimodal: time series, cumulative, or actuals.

  • Time series (for example, daily spend) – Bar, line, and line area are valid chart types.

  • Cumulative (for example, top 5) – Bar and pie are valid chart types.

  • Actuals – You cannot customize the chart type. Actuals always show sparklines.

To customize a KPI card:

  1. Find the card on the dashboard.
  2. Click the menu more_vert in the upper-right corner of the card.
  3. Select Customize.
  4. (Optional) Enter a new name for the card.
  5. Select a data format.
  6. Click Apply.

  7. To save your changes, click Save Dashboard in the upper-right.

In this example, the daily spend KPI is customized to show a line area view.

Filter a KPI card

You can change the data shown on a KPI card.

  1. Find the card on the dashboard.
  2. Click the menu more_vert in the upper-right corner of the card.
  3. Select Filter.
  4. Select the products and providers that you want to track.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. To save your changes, click Save Dashboard in the upper-right.

In this example, the daily spend KPI is filtered to show selected products and providers.

Filter a key performance indicator

Reorder the information

You can change the layout of your dashboard.

  1. From the navigation bar, click Reorder Cards.
  2. Click and drag cards to reflect the order in which you want them to appear.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. To save your changes, click Save Dashboard in the upper-right.

The two top-most cards are rendered at the full-width of the dashboard. All remaining cards are rendered at half-width.

Access reports

You can access billing reports by clicking Reports in the top navigation bar.

View subscriptions

You can view active product subscriptions by clicking Subscriptions in the top navigation bar.

View Invoices

You can access billing reports by clicking Invoices in the top navigation bar.

From here, you can view a detailed version of each invoice by selecting the invoice and clicking View.

You can also download a CSV or PDF version of an invoice.

Update contact information

In Settings > Customer information, you can update your e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, company name, and title.

Add a credit card

In Settings > Credit card, you can add one or more credit cards.

Add a cloud account

In Settings > Cloud accounts, you can add and edit cloud accounts for billing.

For example, you can add an AWS Linked Account, an Azure Subscription, or a GCP Project. When you click Provision, Orbitera creates an account for you with the cloud provider.

When you edit a cloud account, you can add cloud account fields, which are metadata that appear in invoices. You can use these fields as filters in your dashboard and reports.
